It asks you to give space to others, to establish these spaces. Mime theory asks you to take care of your body and what it is doing, to have much more awareness of the space you are in. Every movement is important and carefully planned out to get the desired effect. I like the idea of mime taking this language of the body that we are so conscious of, and making oursleves so aware of it. Space awareness is an attunement that must be developed.’ (Avital 1985:26) There is a whole other world present to be experienced. Walk as carefully forwards, into the space, as you do backwards. There must be eyes in your toes, thighs and belly. All the calls in the body have a consciousness and a specific function. We must learn to see with everything like the blind. I came across this book ‘Mime and Beyond: The Silent Outcry’ By Samuel Avital. I looked into mime and thought this was the best example of what i was looking into. I thought about what using body language the most in Theatre and silence.
